Homework Policy
Students are expected to complete all assignments by the due date. If a student is absent from class the day an assignment is due, than he or she should hand in the completed assignment on the day he or she returns to school. If a student is absent on the day of a quiz or test, than upon returning to class, the student should talk to the teacher about arranging an appropriate time to make-up the missed quiz or test.
Students have been given the opportunity to have 3 Free Homework Passes.
These are to be used at their discretion, but will in no way be used for any homework involving writing projects or final work during our reading projects!
Every Day Edits
Every Tuesday and Thursday your students begin class by proofreading a paragraph that has exactly ten mistakes involving grammar or spelling. Each E.D.E. is worth 10 points once they are self-corrected, and once the students reach the 100 point mark they are given an additional homework pass.
This is used to motivate them to improve upon their proofreading, as well as remain diligent at self correcting.
