Welcome to 6th Grade Language Arts and Reading!
This year will be an exploration into the different ways that reading and writing coexist, and how we can use both to improve our own writing and reading. During our time together we will complete numerous units that will showcase our understanding of reading and writing we have completed in class.
We will also be brushing up on our grammar and learning new vocabulary to add to our own writing styles.
This will be a class in which a majority of the work that is necessary for projects and large tests will be completed in class (with the exception of the final aspects an studying for quizes) completed at home. Therefore it is necessary that each student comes to class ready to learn and ready to work!
Our goals are:
o To study and analyze different forms of literature
o To discover the different ways in which we can express our thoughts, feelings, and experiences through writing
o To learn new vocabulary to improve our writing skills
o To utilize correct grammar skills to make our writing more fluid
